Homework

Your child will be given maths, reading and grammar homework every Friday. This homework is found in their CGP books and is a consolidation of what has been taught during the week. The homework is due in on a Tuesday morning.

Reading

All the children have a school reading book to take home. Please try to read with your child regularly even if your child is a fluent reader and support him/her by asking questions to deepen their understanding of the texts.

Spellings

There will be spellings to learn each week and tested on Fridays. The words to learn will be sent out at the start of term. These spellings will usually focus on spelling patterns and rules.

Maths

Each week on a Friday, we will test your child's arithmetic knowledge and hand out some homework. The homework will be related to the area of study they have just completed - the homework helps your child to practise the concepts and solidify their understanding. Please also practise your child's timetables and their corresponding division facts on a daily basis- a secure knowledge of these helps their skills is many other areas of maths curriculum.

PE Days

Our PE lessons are on a Wednesday. Please ensure your child has their PE kit (white t-shirt, black shorts/ joggers and black jumper) in on the first day of each term, this will then be kept in school for the duration of the term.

We look forward to working with you to ensure your child fulfils their potential.

Mrs Prendergast

We had a great time making our own lungs to demonstrate how the diaphragm works to help inflate the lungs as part of our science lesson.

We had great fun creating Christmas Cards with paper circuits.

We had a fantastic trip to Swindon Magistrates Court. We took part in a mock trial and learnt how the justice system works.

3rd November 2023

We enjoyed learning how to create different circuits in science this week.

This we tested whether different circuits would work after looking at the drawn version.
